ABOUT YUANZHOU

Cast iron cookware manufacturing built on more than 25 years of production experience

Wuyi Yuanzhou Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. manufactures cast iron cookware for importers, distributors, retailers, foodservice suppliers and cookware brands. Since 2000, the company has developed an integrated production system covering casting, machining, surface finishing, seasoning, enameling, inspection and packaging.

COMPANY HISTORY

From a cast iron producer to an integrated cookware manufacturer

Yuanzhou began manufacturing cast iron products in Wuyi, Zhejiang, in 2000. The company’s early work established the production knowledge that still underpins the business today: controlling casting structure, preparing the surface correctly and producing cookware that can be repeated consistently from one order to the next.

As customer requirements developed, the factory expanded beyond basic castings. Grinding and machining were added to improve product fit and surface preparation. Vegetable-oil seasoning and enamel capabilities created options for different cooking uses, retail positions and destination markets. Wood accessory processing, assembly, inspection and export packing became part of the same production workflow.

The product range grew alongside those capabilities. Today, Yuanzhou maintains more than 500 established models across Dutch ovens, casseroles, skillets, grill pans, griddles, bakeware, sizzler plates, serving pieces and outdoor cookware. Existing molds give buyers a practical starting point, while engineering review and mold development support products that require a new structure.

The company remains focused on manufacturing rather than building a consumer brand. Its role is to help business customers turn a product brief into cookware that can be sampled, approved, produced, inspected and packed for the intended sales channel.

INTEGRATED MANUFACTURING

The main production stages managed within one system

Cast iron cookware is shaped by a sequence of connected processes. A change in casting weight affects handling and freight. Surface preparation influences seasoning and enamel appearance. Product geometry determines how lids, handles and wooden bases fit. Packaging must protect a heavy item through storage, loading and international transport. Yuanzhou manages these decisions as one manufacturing program rather than a series of isolated operations.

Casting begins with the confirmed model or approved drawing. The production team reviews product shape, wall structure, handle construction and key dimensions before the order moves forward. After casting, grinding and machining prepare the cookware for its specified finish and any fitted components.

Pre-seasoned cookware receives vegetable-oil treatment following surface preparation. Enameled products move through coating and color-control stages based on the approved sample. Products with lids, knobs, handles or wooden serving bases are assembled according to the confirmed construction.

Inspection is built into the production sequence. Casting condition, dimensions, weight, surface coverage, color, component fit, logo position and packaging are checked according to the order specification. Finished products are then packed, marked and prepared for export loading.

This integrated approach gives buyers one manufacturing team for product, finish, accessories, inspection and packing. It also makes changes easier to assess before production, when their effect on cost, timing and repeatability can still be controlled.

WUYI PRODUCTION BASE

20,000 m²+ dedicated to cast iron production and finishing

Yuanzhou operates a manufacturing facility of more than 20,000 square metres in Wuyi County, Jinhua, Zhejiang. More than 100 employees work across production, technical review, inspection, packing and export coordination.

The site includes foundry operations, grinding and surface preparation, machining, seasoning, enamel processing, wood accessory production, assembly, finished-goods storage and packing. Bringing these operations together helps the factory coordinate the details that affect the final product, from casting condition and surface finish to board fit and carton protection.

Production planning is based on the selected model, order quantity, finish, packaging complexity, inspection scope and required shipment window. Existing products generally follow a shorter development route because the mold and product structure are already established. New-mold or highly customized projects require additional technical review and sample approval before a production schedule can be confirmed.

The factory gallery documents the working environment directly: foundry production, molten iron pouring, surface preparation, production lines, wood-base processing, inspection, packaging, warehousing and office support. These are the operations responsible for turning an approved sample into a shipment-ready order.

OEM / ODM DEVELOPMENT

Existing models, custom branding and new product structures

Buyers can work from Yuanzhou’s established catalog or begin with a drawing, reference sample or detailed product brief. The appropriate route depends on how much of the product is already defined.

For an existing model, the project normally focuses on size selection, surface finish, enamel color, logo, accessories and packaging. Using an established mold can reduce development work and make sampling more direct. It is a practical option for distributors and retailers building a cookware assortment around proven product structures.

For a customized product, the engineering review covers dimensions, wall structure, handles, lids, knobs, wooden components and the intended manufacturing process. If a new mold is required, tooling and sample requirements are agreed before development begins. Mass production starts only after the product and finish have been approved.

Branding can be applied to the product or its packaging, depending on the structure and process. Packaging options include the standard blister pack and outer carton, as well as customized color boxes, labels, barcodes, instruction sheets and carton markings prepared from approved artwork.

Yuanzhou also supports product-family planning. A buyer may combine Dutch ovens, skillets, grillware or serving pieces around a common finish, color direction, logo and packaging system. The aim is not simply to customize one item, but to make sure every product in the program can be manufactured and presented consistently.

PRODUCTION INSPECTION

Checks based on the approved sample and order specification

Quality control begins before production. The model, dimensions, unit weight, surface finish, color, logo, accessories, packaging and inspection requirements must be clear enough for the factory and buyer to evaluate the same finished product.

During casting and finishing, the production team reviews visible casting defects, shape, edge condition and areas that require grinding or machining. Dimensional and weight checks help confirm that the cookware remains within the agreed product specification. For assembled products, lids, handles, knobs and wooden bases are checked for fit and placement.

Surface inspection depends on the selected finish. Pre-seasoned cookware is checked for preparation, oil coverage and handling before packing. Enameled products are reviewed for coating coverage, color consistency, interior and exterior appearance and protection against impact during packing.

Brand and packaging details are also part of the inspection scope. Logo placement, labels, instruction materials, barcodes, inner packing, outer cartons and carton markings are checked against the approved information. Final sampling is completed before shipment according to the order requirements.

When a buyer uses a nominated inspection company, the factory can coordinate a pre-shipment inspection against an agreed checklist. Food-contact testing and supporting documents can also be reviewed by project. The product, finish, destination market, test standard and responsible party should be confirmed before quotation so timing and cost are understood from the beginning.

INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS

Manufacturing for different markets and sales channels

Yuanzhou supplies cast iron cookware to customers across more than 20 countries and regions. Current markets include North America, Europe, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Customers range from importers and regional distributors to retailers, foodservice suppliers and cookware brands. Their requirements differ by market and channel. A retail program may place greater emphasis on color, shelf presentation, barcode systems and consumer instructions. Foodservice buyers may focus on product durability, portion format and repeat ordering. Distributors often need a balanced range of established models, practical packaging and stable replenishment.

The factory reviews these differences at the start of each project. Surface finish, packaging, testing, carton marking and shipment documents are aligned with the buyer’s destination and sales plan. This makes the manufacturing brief more precise and reduces avoidable changes after sampling or production has begun.
